Creating Time Text


Question:

How do I create time text like 8:30 in OpenRoads SignCAD?

Answer:

1) Start by selecting the Text tool on the toolbar  .

2) Pick a point on the screen with the left mouse button. You will see a blinking vertical line, which is the text editing cursor.

3) From the Preferences menu, select Text Size. In the Text Size dialog box, type "2” for the Size and press OK.

4) From the Preferences menu, select Text Font. In the Text Font dialog box, pick C from the font list and press OK.

5) From the Preferences menu, select Fill Color and set it to Red.

6) Type “8” <enter>Right click on "8" and pick Edit Data from the floating object menu to bring up the Text dialog box.

7) Click on the Insert button to bring up the Insert dialog box. Select Location: After current string and click OK.

8) In the Legend field of the Text dialog box, press the <spacebar> to create a space after the number “8”. Type 0.25” for the text size.

9) Press Insert and select Location: After current string and click OK.

10) In the Legend field of the Text dialog box, type “:” to create a colon after the space. Type "2” for the text size.

11) Press Insert and select Location: After current string and click OK.

12) In the Legend field of the Text dialog box, press the <spacebar> to create a space after the colon. Type "0.25” for the text size.

13) Press Insert and select Location: After current string and click OK.

14) In the Legend field of the Text dialog box, type “30” after the space. Type "2” for the text size. Press OK to create the time text.
