Problem:
OpenRoads SignCAD does not open or launch past the splash screen.
Solution:
1) An outdated version of CONNECTION Client can cause startup issues. Upgrade to a newer CONNECTION Client version, log-in to CONNECTION Client and then launch OpenRoads SignCAD.
2) This has been reported with users who have the security virus scanner Sentinel, SentinelOne, Sophos, or Cylance. If you are using a security virus scanner, then you will need to whitelist the Bentley folder so that the OpenRoadsSignCAD.exe is not blocked. The default path is under C:\Program Files.
3) An invalid working directory path in the User.xml file or a corrupted User.xml could be causing the startup issue.
Here are instructions for changing your SignCAD working directory:
If that does not work, then it is possible that your User.xml file is corrupted. Delete your User.xml file and start OpenRoads SignCAD. This will generate a new User.xml file.
4) Uninstall OpenRoads SignCAD, delete the OpenRoads SignCAD 2023.00 folders shown below and then reinstall the application.
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenRoads SignCAD 2023.00
C:\Users\Kara.Goodwin\AppData\Local\Bentley\OpenRoads SignCAD 2023.00
C:\Users\Kara.Goodwin\AppData\Local\Temp\Bentley\OpenRoads SignCAD 2023.00
5) If you receive an "Unexpected Critical Error" when launching OpenRoads SignCAD, please create a case and upload the OpenRoadsSignCADLog.txt file and Event Viewer logs for review.
NOTE: If you do not see your AppData folder, then it is hidden.
To see hidden folders in Windows Explorer, go to View > Show and toggle on the option for Hidden Items. Then you should see the AppData folder.
