How do I bring an image from a pdf file into OpenRoads SignCAD?
Answer:
You can copy/paste an image from a pdf into OpenRoads SignCAD. An Image can be thought of as a grid of colored dots that provide a nice picture. The colors used on the image are not editable in OpenRoads SignCAD unless the image is vectorized.
1) Open the pdf in Adobe Acrobat Reader.
2) Use the Zoom In and Zoom Out tools or enter a scale percent to get the desired image size.
3) In Adobe Acrobat Reader, pick Edit>More>Take a Snapshot and select the portion of the pdf you want to copy. The selected area will be copied to your clipboard.
4) In OpenRoads SignCAD, pick Edit>Paste. Select and drag the image onto the sign panel and adjust object spacing as desired. NOTE: There is not a way to round the corners on the image or to remove the box around the image in OpenRoads SignCAD. The sign on the left shown below is an image on a white panel. The sign on the right is a light blue panel with a white border and text that has the mountain laurel flower image added.
5) Save the file (File>Save As).
