To register a project from the lnfrastructure Cloud a user must have Administrator, Co-administrator, or CONNECT Services Admin privileges associated with their Bentley account, OR, have an enterprise role that includes the permission to Create new ITwin coupled with the Provision from a template permission.
These privileges are required because registered Infrastructure Cloud projects are organization-wide resources that represent real-world projects and are used in many different locations for information organization and reporting. Therefore, access is limited to those members of an organization with sufficient privileges to ensure that only recognized and permitted Infrastructure Cloud projects be registered on behalf of an organization.
Important: Project-specific roles such as Project Administrator will not allow rights to register another project.
- If you are an end user and want to register a project in the Infrastructure Cloud, you need to contact an administrator for your organization. Infrastructure Cloud support is unable to assign this.
- If you do not know your administrators, you can visit the Profile Page. And in the last section "Account Administrators" you will see the list of account administrators.
- If you are an administrator for your organization and want to give a user permission to register a project in the Infrastructure Cloud, you have two options:
- You can visit the User management portal and grant one of the following roles to the appropriate users.
Please note granting these roles will also grant administrative rights to all organization projects.
- Administrator – Organization's primary administrator assigned to add users, modify the role(s) of all existing users, manage software licenses, create / edit / delete projects.
- Co-Administrator – Administrator assigned to add users, modify the role(s) of existing users, manage software licenses, and create / edit / delete projects.
- CONNECT Services Admin – Access the organization's CONNECTED Project Dashboard data, create and edit Connected Projects, including Infrastructure Cloud, PW365 and PlantSight projects.
- Visit the Enterprise role management portal to create a role with the permissions Create new iTwins and Provision project from a template and assign it to the user. You can manage enterprise roles by following the Roles and Permissions link in the Subscription services portal. This will allow them to create Infrastructure Cloud, PW365 and PlantSight projects but does not grant any administrative rights to other projects in your organization.
