New Language packs for SYNCHRO Control
With the latest release SYNCHRO Control has added the Czech language to its list of available languages can now be view in the following languages:
- Japanese
- Korean
- Czech
[Note: There are some areas in the application that have not been translated yet but will be completed in an upcoming release.]
The languages can be enabled in your browser through the language settings page. The language packs are supported in the following browsers:
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Firefox

New options for closed forms
Previously when a form State was set to Closed, the only option available for the form was to export it to a PDF.
This release adds options to Escalate the form to another form, and to Copy the closed form, thus copying the information in the closed form to a new form.
File upload control
Previously forms had a default option to upload files provided at the bottom of the form. For this reason the File Load controls which are available for placement in other areas of the form were hidden. With this release you can now include the File Upload control in multiple sections of the form and they will be displayed as designed.
[Note: This option is enabled in the NEW Forms Renderer only.]

Updated user management system
This release introduces a new user management system which currently can be previewed in SYNCHRO Control. The toggle switch will allow you to switch back between the old and new system so you can familiarize yourself with the new system at your convenience.

Updated Forms Renderer
A new forms renderer is available when creating new forms or editing existing ones. A preview toggle has been added for you to switch between the new and old renderers with the ability to provide feedback on your experience.

New Work by items tab
This new tab under the Work section allows you to set up a WBS for your project hierarchy.
The tree is configured in the Inspections configuration file. If you go to Admin > Inspections configuration, you can download a sample file. The Specs tab of the file is where the hierarchy tree is setup. Once completed, go to the hierarchy configuration and upload your file. Please make sure you review the "read me" section.

Interactive form summary on grid
The Work by items section provides a summary of forms at each level of the hierarchy tree.
Click on the summary to display the forms in the grid.
Attribute Forms
Also new for this release are Attribute forms. These forms allow you to tie information to your items. Such as material type, serial number, testing spec information, etc.
These forms can be opened side by side with your inspection form.
The attribute is setup in the Attribute Forms tab of the configuration file.
Hierarchy tree configuration
The Hierarchy Tree Configuration is available through the Admin section and allows you to upload the configuration file where the hierarchy tree is defined.
This section also allows you add or remove items from the current tree configuration.

Dashboard Views
You now have the ability to edit and save custom dashboard views. This includes the ability to add/remove/rearrange the dashboard widgets as well as the ability to save property filters applied to the forms grid.
The ability to create and edit dashboard views is available by selecting the Lock icon as shown below:
This will put the dashboard in edit mode and provide the ability to create and configure a new dashboard view.

Forms Details Page Improvement
The forms details page has been widened to accommodate form definitions which extend beyond the width of the original form size. This allows for better viewing while creating new forms or editing forms in a full page editor and should mitigate any instances where the controls on a form may be altered for viewing.

New Project Owner Role
Administrators will now have the ability to assign an owner role to a user. Previously only the person who created the project was assigned the owner of the project. Now a project can have one or more owners. Owners have full permissions in a project.
Forms available in iModel Schedule View
Previously in the Schedule view of the iModel viewer, a user was not able to view or create forms associated with the iModel. With this release the forms tab has been added to the MainStage view:
Assign to 'Creator' in workflow transition
When defining property assignments for a workflow transition, a 'Creator' option has been added as an option to the 'Assigned To' drop down list. This means that for the specified transition the form will be assigned to the 'Creator of the form instance'.
Performance Improvements
Improvements have made to the My Work widget on the homepage which includes faster loading times for forms as well as an additional Filter option to display 'All' forms assigned to the user.
Add/Remove project as a template
The action to add the active project as a template has changed from a selection from the Actions dropdown to a checkbox displayed at the bottom of the details page. This also includes added functionality which allows you to remove the project as a template which was not previously available.

Dashboard Filtering Enhancement
The Control dashboard now includes a "form" filter drop down which allows you to filter the forms grid by form type.
- Easily navigate through forms by selecting form types from the drop down list.
- Customize your view by selecting or deselecting forms in the grid list.
- Stay informed with the drop down field showing the number of forms selected for display.

Form Prefix Restrictions lifted
The character limit for a form prefix has been expanded from 4 to 25 characters and restrictions on numbers and special characters (*#/% etc.) have been removed.
Autofill workflow update
Previously when a form was first created, there were two fields on a form which were assigned default values:
- Assign To - Automatically displayed the creator to the field.
- Date Identified - Any field which used this binding in the designer would default to the current date.
Now, when a user chooses to create a new form the default values for these fields are displayed after clicking the Save option rather than upon the initial opening of the form.
Deprecated for this release
iModel Creation: Support for SYNCHRO Pro v6.3 is being deprecated so the option to select 6.3 when enabling scheduling services in the Create iModel and Edit iModel dialogs has been removed.

Filter to Roles
The Filter to Roles dialog now includes ALL project Roles, not just roles that include members.
- By default, ALL roles are included which means if any NEW role is added to the project, it will automatically be added to the “Included” list.
- If, however, there are any roles EXCLUDED on a form definition and a new role is added to the project, that new role will automatically be added to the “excluded” list.

SYNCHRO Control now has a new document system when new projects are created. This more robust system provides more control over your project documents including:
Enhanced Views
- Additional columns are available providing more detailed information.
- Column views are now customizable.
- Filters for columns are now available.
- Ability to create and manage saved views.
Checkin/Checkout documents
- Documents can be checked out to the user's local machine and locked on the server until the user either:
- Completes the edit and checks in the document(s).
- Uses the Free option to unlock the document(s) discarding any local changes made.
- The Update option will update the server copy with changes made locally without checking in the file until the edits are completed.
ProjectWise Drive
- Includes the option to use ProjectWise Drive to sync the project documents section with your local computer.
- Allows you to open and edit documents from the File Explorer on your computer.
- File are automatically Checked out on server when opened from ProjectWise Drive
[Note: This functionality can be toggled On/Off.] - Syncs changes with server copy.
Document Versioning
- Users can now create new versions of documents along with options to view all versions, or just the most recent.
Folder Access Improvements
- Permissions can be set on the Documents root folder which will apply to all documents unless otherwise specified.
- Ability to toggle inherited permissions for both parent folders and its subfolders.
- Ability to modify permissions for individual subfolders while still maintaining inherited permissions for others.
Detailed document information
- Detailed metadata on documents and folders provided in Information panel.
- Ability to define Attributes for documents.
- More robust Audit trail information on both documents and folders.
- Option to Export the Audit trail.
Document Sets
- Creates container to be able to group documents that exist in different folders in a single location.
- Allows user to easily download documents from a single location.
- Keeps the most recent version of a document unless a specific version is locked for the set.
