Issue
A few users reported that when upgrading to 6.2.2.0 from a previous version, the installation process will end during splash screen without any notification and users can't finish installing v6.2.2.0.
This seems to be related to windows and has not been reproducible.
Solutions
Solution 1
- Install working version of Synchro (example 6.1.1.1)
- Restart machine
- Use a tool such as CCleaner to uninstall 6.1.1.1
- Run REGEDIT from Windows Start > Run
- Check to make sure registry entries for Synchro are removed -
- Try to find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bentley\SYNCHRO Pro (if found, remove it)
- Try to find "SYNCHRO Pro" in the node HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Dependencies\ (it might be in some subnodes HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Dependencies\{some GUID}\). If found, remove all the subnode containing "SYNCHRO Pro"
- Restart machine
- Install 6.2.2.0
- Open Synchro PRO
Solution 2
- Try logging on to the machine with a different user profile such as administrator account.
- Install 6.2.2.0
Solution 3
- Rebuild machine from image
