SYNCHRO Pro - 4D Pro Trial message window when upgrading to 2019.2 (v6.2)


"Trial Expired, SYNCHRO 4D Pro" or "SYNCHRO 4D Pro Trial" message window when upgrading to 2019.2 (v6.2)

SYNCHRO 4D Pro is a new license introduced to 2019.2 (v6.2) that enables the iModel functionality in addition to the traditional Pro license, which is why users upgrading to 2019.2 will get a notification about a 7 day trial for the SYNCHRO 4D Pro license. SYNCHRO Pro will continue to work as it always has after the 7 day for 4D Pro (iModel) trial ends. Since the names of the licenses are so similar, this may cause some confusion.

SYNCHRO 4D Pro includes beta features for iModel integration. User may be prompted with a message window after upgrade which says “SYNCHRO 4D Pro trial” message window. User can cancel or close the message window to proceed with the trial. SYNCHRO Pro will continue to work as normal. After 7 days when 4D Pro license expires, SYNCHRO Pro will detect that entitlement is expired and will disable Options>Plugin modules setting for iModel so that the license is not checked for on opening Pro anymore and the dialog about expired license will not be raised again. User can disable this setting earlier if they do not want to see trial license message or use iModel features in Options> Plugin, uncheck iModel.

The trial period notification the user receives is for the SYNCHRO 4D Pro license (iModel related features) only. SYNCHRO Pro will continue to work as it always has after the 7 day for 4D Pro (iModel) trial ends.

Solution

User can disable this setting earlier if they do not want to see trial license message or use iModel features in Options> Plugin, uncheck iModel. Click OK. 

Close Pro. Restarting SYNCHRO Pro will not prompt the 4D Pro trial message anymore.
