Work Area Tool (using Civil Alignments)

This tool uses Alignments as a reference to create Work areas and is primarily relevant for civil models. The Alignment can either be selected directly from the model, or from the  Alignment widget    icon at the bottom-left corner.

Area name defines a prefix for each Work area created.

Length creates multiple Work areas, split based on the value defined.

Location defines the start and stop stationing of the selected Alignment.

Offset defines the left-right boundary extents.

If there are Cost Codes assigned to 3D elements that are being sliced by the Work are, clicking Create will raise a dialog box to either reassign the Cost Code(s) to sliced parts or drop the assignment(s).

Depending on the size and complexity of the iModel, creating Work areas may take some time to process.

When complete, a list of all Work areas is available in the Visibility tree. Selecting a Work area here will select all the associated 3D elements that can then be isolated for reviewing.

Click on the meatball menu to delete a Work area.
