Assigning (3D) Resources to Tasks

Synchro Challenge
- If you move the focus time on “Structural Piles” task, what do you see after Pile resources are assigned to the task?
- How do I select the Assigned Resource from this “Structural piles” task? And how do I Isolate Select the Assigned (3D)Resources?
- What controls the color of the Piles during the task?

Understand Resource Appearance Profile
- System Profiles/Action: Install, Maintain, Neutral, Remove, Temporary
- Start, Active, End Appearance
- Under Active Appearance: Color, Growth, Transparency, etc.
- Important!
When Resource(s) is/are assigned to Task(s),the selected Resource Appearance will be
assigned to the Resources.
*Pay attention to position of Focus Time

Create Resource Appearance Profile for Pile caps and Assign
- Navigator ribbon Resource → Appearance Profile
- Right-click to add new Resource Appearance Profile “Foundation Works”
- Action: Install
- Active Appearance
- Color: blue
- Growth: left to right
- Assign “Pile Caps” resources to the task
Make sure “Foundation Works” R.A.P. is selected
Drag “Pile Caps” resource and drop on the task
Check your work
- 3D Resource column on the “Pile caps” task has turned to 1
- Right-click on the “Pile caps” task, Select Assigned Resources
- Right-click in 3D View → Filters → Isolate Selected then ESC to un-highlight
- Step through the timeline on the target task to check if the desired Resource Appearance Profile has been applied

Create Resource Appearance Profile for Concrete slab and Assign
- Navigator ribbon → Resource Appearance Profile
- Right click to add new R.A.P. “Concrete slab”
- Action: Install
- Active Appearance
Color: light green
Growth: left to right - Assign Concrete resources to concrete tasks
- Assign “Pile Caps” resources to the task
Before you assign, make sure “Concrete Slab” R.A.P is selected
Drag Concrete (3D)resource and drop on the target tasks
