Assign by Query

This widget allows users to queries 3D elements by property values, then visually validates the assignments and quantity calculations. As a result, users assign the Cost Codes to elements in bulk. Users can also save the query to run again in the future. The value of assigning by query avoids tedious manual work, saves times, and improves efficiency.

  1. Query the model by selecting a 3D element property, available values, and an operator (equal/not equal, less/greater than, like/not like, etc.). Additional properties can be added using AND logic by clicking the plus icon.
  2. Click on Add group to run multiple queries using OR logic, or for distinct Cost Code assignments. A unique color is assigned to individual query groups for visual validation.
  3. Click on Assign to complete the operation or click on Validate for visual validation of the assignments.

The 3D elements are highlighted with the respective group color. The transparency slider can be used to change the visibility of context models. Additional selected element(s) can be added or delete from individual groups as needed.

Click Assign to complete the Cost Code assignments for each query group.

Click Back to cancel the validation and make further edits to the queries.
  1. Save Query exports a JSON file that can be loaded back into the same or other projects.

Note: Save the queries before assigning them.
