Problem

What is the "rise" when entering the gravity pipe design slope using a table?

Solution

The generic term “rise” is used because conduits can have many different shapes (box, ellipse, egg, etc). If the term "diameter" were used, then it would not make sense for example for a box-shaped conduit.

For the Circle section type, the rise is the diameter.
For other section types, the rise is the height of the shape. So for example a four meter wide by two meter tall box pipe would have a Rise of two meters, as that is the height.
