Cannot generate report in Report Builder - internal error or hang

Problem

When attempting to generate a report in Report Builder for any model, the following error occurs, or the program crashes.

Solution

First, in case a window is appearing outside the viewable area of your screen, please try going to View > Reset Workspace per this article:

If this does not help, please test one of the sample files located in the Samples subfolder within the PondPack installation folder. Also, try changing your default printer in the Windows Printers dialog, as the printer driver is used to render the reports. If that does not work:

  1. Perform clean reinstallation of the product as per the steps mentioned in following article:

        How do I perform a clean uninstall and reinstall of the Hydraulic and Hydrology products?

  1. In one case the issue was related to Microsoft .NET Framework. Running the Check Disk Windows utility resolved the issue.
  2. Upgrading to the latest version of PondPack may also help
