Problem

The default engineering libraries appear to be missing. How can I restore them?

Solution

First make sure the original, default engineering library xml files are still located under the following folder (for Windows 7/8/10/11):

C:\ProgramData\Bentley\<ProgramName>\10\Libraries

Or for older, V8i versions: C:\ProgramData\Bentley\<ProgramName>\8\Libraries

If so, delete the Engineering libraries database per the link below and restart the program, which should point back to the correct locations of the .xml files:
