This page can be accessed from the main Likelihood of Failure or Consequence of Failure page, by clicking in the New >> Cumulative button located on the top, or by editing an already existing cumulative.
The goal of the Cumulative page is to create (or edit) the multi-criteria decision ranking system that will be used to assess the final likelihood or consequence of failure scenario. This multi-criteria decision ranking system is composed by the different key aspects defined by the user (and that contribute to the likelihood or consequence of failure) as well as the weight for each aspect (as some aspects may be more important than others). The final score for each pipe is obtained through a weighted average of the individual pipe scores for each aspect/consequence.
In the top left of the page, the user can define a name for the cumulative to be created. The name should be as much intuitive as possible, as it will be used in the rest of the application in the Likelihood/Consequence of Failure pages, Risk Pages and Planning pages.
Name
Contains the name of each aspect or consequence that was previously created by the user.
Type
Describes the method used to create that aspect (Decision tree or predefined)
Weight
The user defines here the weight to give to each aspect/consequence that will contribute to the final likelihood of failure (LOF) or consequence of failure (COF) scenario. Some aspects/consequence may be more important/relevant than others, in that case their relative weight should be higher. For example a user may define that pipe age and break rate history contributes more to the final likelihood of failure than pipe material (or the opposite). In case the user does not want to use some of the aspects/consequences listed there for the final likelihood/consequence of failure scenario, he just need to define a weight of zero. Please also note that the final sum for all weights need to be 100%.
Also by clicking in the button automatically all aspects are considered to have the same importance/relevance and will share the same weight.
The final LOF or COF scores for each pipe will be calculated through a weighted average of the individual pipe scores previously calculated for each aspect/consequence, according with the formula:
Final Score = Aspect 1 * Weight 1 + Aspect 2 * Weight 2 + Aspect 3 * Weight 3 + etc
Clicking here it is possible to preview the results in a map, before saving.
Clicking save button below will automatically save the cumulative scenario. The recently saved cumulative scenario will then appear listed in the Likelihood or Consequence of Failure page, inside the Cumulative section.
By clicking close, any change to cumulative is discarded and does not get saved, and the user is redirected to the previous page.
