When attempting to compute a transient simulation in HAMMER, the program crashes with the standard Bentley crash dialog and the following details are seen when clicking the details button:

This has been known to occur when certain invalid pump efficiency curves are used. Check the Efficiency tab of all pump definitions used by active pumps in the model (Components > Pump Definitions) and ensure that they are properly configured.
For example in at least one case this issue was caused by a value of zero flow for all rows in the multiple point efficiency table:
This issue has been reported to Development (reference # 1077889) and should be resolved in a future version, so that a more helpful user notification is shown instead.
