How do you add and use new materials, sections sizes, or culvert inlets in CulvertMaster?
How can custom library items be shared with other users?
You can add items to the Engineering Libraries by going to Tools > Engineering Libraries. To add new materials, the user can highlight the Material library and select 'Edit'. They can adjust existing materials using the 'Edit' button, add new ones by clicking the "Insert" button, or make them available/unavailable by clicking the checkbox for "Available in CulvertMaster".
To edit an item:
1. Choose the item by left clicking on the element label.
2. Click the 'Edit' button
3. Adjust the section size properties on this tab
4. Adjust the material properties on this tab. You can add or remove materials. Materials are added using the drop down menu and the 'Insert' button and removed using the ''
5. When done use the 'Close' button to close the dialog boxes
To Insert a new item:
*The example below uses the section type library
1. Click the "Insert" button
2. Choose the section type
3. Locate the new entry in the list then click the 'Edit' button.
4. You'll be presented with the dialog from steps 3 and 4 from the editing section located above to add in the new section
5. When done use the 'Close' button to close the dialog boxes
If you add a custom inlet, material or section size to the Engineering Library, it will be available for use in other projects that you open on the same computer.
If you need to share the custom library with other users, note the folder path to the .HLB file seen in the Engineering Library Manager, then locate that file in Windows File Explorer and send it to the other computer.
If you send a CulvertMaster model to another user (another computer) and it uses custom library items, that user will also need to have your custom HLB file in order to see and use those custom library items. Copy it to the same location on the other computer.
More information on Engineering Libraries can be found in the Help documentation.
