Problem

How can I export the information seen in the profile annotation table?

Solution

There are a few options to consider:

Option 1: DXF Export

In both the regular hydraulic profile and in the engineering profile, you can click the options button in the top-left corner and choose to export to DXF. If the annotation table was displayed, it will be included in the exported DXF file.

Option 2: Chart Options

For hydraulic profiles (the one that appears when double clicking on the profile name, not to be confused with Engineering Profiles), to access the data table that stores the information in the profile annotation table, click the Options button in the top-left corner and choose "Chart Options". In the Chart Options dialog, select the Export tab, then choose the "Data" sub-tab. For the "Series" dropdown box select either "Annotation Table" or "Annotation Table Labels", choose the export file type (such as Excel) and then click Save. The data will be exported.

To preview this data before export, select Annotation Table from the Series tab, then click the Data tab.

Option 3 - use a combined pipe-node Flextable instead

If your reason for wanting to export the profile annotation table is to create a report of the data for a particular stretch of pipes and nodes, you can consider using Flextables instead. In the storm and sewer products, a "Pipe-Connected Node" Flextable type is available, which can show a limited set of input and output for both pipes and nodes in a single flextable.

1) First, create a new combined pipe/node flextable with the desired fields. From the View menu, select Flextable (to open the Flextable manager), then right click on either "Tables - Hydraulic Model" (for a table that will only be available for the current model) or "Tables - Shared" (for a table that will be available for all models on the current computer), choose New > Node-Connected Pipe Flextable, or "2 row FlexTable" (see the Help documentation for the differences)

Note: for StormCAD, you can also choose to open the predefined table called "DOT Report" which is a 2-Row Flextable.

2) In the Flextable options dialog that appears, choose "gravity node" as the Table Type (for the "Pipe-Connected Node" type) or "Conduit" (for the 2-Row type), then add the desired fields to the right side. Note that a limited set of fields may be available depending on the Flextable type.

3) Click OK, then go back to the Profile Manager, select the profile of interest, right click and choose "Select Profile in Drawing". This selects all the elements that are part of the profile.

4) Right click in the drawing, choose "edit group", then select the newly created Flextable from step 2.

5) In the Flextable, right click one of the column headers and choose to "Sort Upstream-> Downstream", "Sort Downstream-> Upstream" or "Sort Dendritic"

6) Modify the table as needed and generate a report, export or copy/paste externally as needed.
