Alerts for sensors and zones can be automatically generated based on some user defined triggers. Once they get generated, a notification can be send by email to the defined list of users, and those alerts will also become available in the Active Event list.
Those alerts should represent anomalies/events that are happening or that occurred in the network, and should be managed by the user. Once those events are finished and any necessary investigations complete, the user should update the status to Closed, so that the Active Event List will be always showing the most recent alerts that are still Active. Alternatively, alerts can be deleted if they do not need to be archived for future reference, such as in the case of false positives.
In the diagram below it is presented the detailed workflow for managing alerts generated by the software:
It is important to note that specifically for zone generated alerts, there is an additional option to run the geolocation tool. In this case if a zone event is generated, and after investigation it is defined as a valid event, the user can run the geolocation to narrow down/pint-point the most likely area inside the zone/DMA.
