Problem
When trying to add a Bing Map background using the Bentley Bing Map Key, the following error occurs:
Unable to interactively select a latitude and longitude. Make sure your Bing Maps Key is valid.
Solution: choose Map Style
This issue can occur when selecting the ellipsis button in the Latitude-Longitude cell, as shown in red in the screenshot below.
The issue occurs when the Map Style is blank, as shows in blue above. In order to resolve this, select a Map Style from the pulldown menu. This issue is resolved in version 2023 and greater, so upgrading is another solution.
Solution - check for outage
This error can also occur if the Bentley Bing Map key cannot be processed via the CONNECTION Client. First ensure that you are signed in to the CONNECTION Client and using an up-to-date version. If so, check Status.Bentley.com for any known Bing Map outage.
