The following user notification is generated when computing or validating a 2D model: "The catchment overlaps the 2D calculation grid. This may result in over counting rainfall where they intersect."
This notification occurs if a 1D catchment overlays the 2D grid. Depending on a setting, this can cause rainfall falling on the grid and catchment to be over counted.
In the calculation options, there is a setting called Rainfall Method. If this is set to "Rainfall on Grid and Catchment," the storm data will apply to both the 2D grid and the 1D catchment. If the Rainfall Method is set to "Rainfall on Catchment Only," the storm data will apply only to the catchment. You will want to make sure that the catchment location is accurate and that the Rainfall Method is correct.
