Problem

Excessive pressure drops found upon sizing ductwork system.

Solution

Hevacomp will often automatically utilise Universal tees in ductwork systems with complex geometry, for example at junctions where there are both changes of duct size and different duct types (rectangular/circular).

These Universal tees have a very high K-value as they assume worst-case conditions.

To view the sections that have Universal tees please enable all reports in the Ducts>Defaults menu.

To remove these tees either simplify the ductwork geometry, or manually fix the tee type by selecting Fittings>Fix bend/tee.
