Overview
There appears to be some confusion as to what is considered to be renewables by the SBEM calculation engine. Where renewables are not recognized by the SBEM calculation engine, the Energy Report will state 0 kgCo²/m².
Method
Currently Part L acknowledges renewable energy systems such as:
- Solar thermal systems
- Photovoltaic systems
- Wind turbines
- CHP generators
A biomass fuelled boiler - as oppose to BREEAM green building certification - is not identified as renewable energy source in Part L compliance.
