Asset views organize specific assets into groups for quick retrieval. Instead of searching through multiple layers of the system Asset Tree, users can simply navigate to their individual asset views that contain the assets they need.
By creating an asset view, administrators provide specific users with a conveniently organized package of hand-picked assets. Asset views are commonly created for contract groups and inspectors assigned to specific assets for a short time period.
Asset views are created in the Administration module on theĀ Manage Asset Views page. Administrators choose which asset types can be included in the asset view, then choose the specific assets to add to the asset view.
To add assets to the asset view, click the Select Assets button.
Use the Asset Tree to locate and check the checkboxes of the desired assets. When all of the desired assets have been selected, click the Save button.
Once an asset view is created and assets are added, the administrator must determine who can access the asset view through user group and supplemental security. These security settings can be established in the Administration module using the Asset Security > User Group Security and Asset Security > Supplemental Security pages.
The user group security allows the admin to permit asset view access to all of the users within a specific user group. The supplemental security allows the admin to permit asset view access to specific individual users.
