Troubleshooting Sync Issues

Errors may happen which prevent syncing local status changes. Most common causes:

  1. Resource status or other metadata was removed from project
  2. User has no "Resource status" read/write permission

Ensure to follow best practices:

  1. SYNCHRO 4D Pro - ensure that resource status sets/categories/items are not removed while SYNCHRO Field is being used.
  2. SYNCHRO Field - Ensure that model is up-to date before starting work. More -> Models -> check if model has “Update” button, if yes, then update it before statusing.
  3. SYNCHRO Field - Upload changes from SYNCHRO Field often – avoid keeping changes offline for multiple days.
  4. SYNCHRO Field – When returning to app after sync was started (takes 10-20 minutes), review if app shows red badges indicating unsynced changes – errors might have occurred, or sync is still in progress.

When needed local status changes made in the app can be exported from settings using "Export project local status changes":

Also, if sync errors occur and cannot be resolved, there is an option "Export local changes":

Tapping on it will export failed to sync local changes to .csv file, save or send it via email.

Then on your computer with SYNCHRO 4D PRO:

  1. Open Microsoft Excel and create 2 Sheets - "Settings" and "RecourceStatuses".
  2. The "Settings" sheet should have 3 columns:

  3. Copy all data exported from SYNCHRO Field .csv file (e.g. Field.LocalStatusChanges(XXX).iOS.X.X.X.csv) to "ResourceStatuses" sheet.
  4. Add additional 3 required columns named "CriticalFlag", "Note" and "Delete" to the "ResourceStatuses" sheet:
  5. Review rows and adjust manually if IDs or names change.
  6. Save .xls file.
  7. Open SYNCHRO 4D Pro, then go to "File" > "Import" > "Microsoft Excel" and choose saved .xls file. Click "Next":

  8. Review changes to sync, click "Synchronise":

  9. Review sync results and click "Finish"
  10. After some time changes will be visible on the Model.
