Pushing Rigid Foundations from RAM Structural System to the iTwin Analytical Synchronizer

Surface Members - Foundations

RAM Structural System rigid foundations are pushed to the iTwin Analytical Synchronizer as Surface Member objects.

Surface Member Properties

RAM Structural System footing properties can be viewed for each Surface Member object in the iTwin Analytical Synchronizer.

iTAS Surface Member Property

RAM Structural System Foundation Property

System Kind

Indicates the type of material used to model the member in RAM Structural System:

  • Steel in RAM Structural System = Steel Rolled in iTAS
  • Concrete in RAM Structural System = Concrete Unspecified in iTAS

Use

Indicates the member type in RAM Structural System:

  • Spread Footing in RAM Structural System = Footing in iTAS
  • Continuous Footing in RAM Structural System = Footing in iTAS
  • Pile Cap Footing in RAM Structural System = Pile Cap in iTAS

Surface Offset/Placement Surface

In RAM Structural System, all foundations at the base of columns or walls. In the iTwin Analytical Synchronizer, the surface offset and placement surface will be automatically set as the following:

  • Surface Offset: 0 in
  • Placement Surface: Top
ThicknessIndicates the thickness of the foundations that was assigned in RAM Structural System.

Material Properties

RAM Structural System, material properties are defined for each concrete foundation when it is modeled. The material properties will be pushed to the iTwin Analytical Synchronizer as Concrete objects.

Foundation Reinforcement

In RAM Structural System, reinforcement for rigid foundations is designed and detailed in RAM Foundation. The rebar will be pushed to the iTwin Analytical Synchronizer as Concentrated Surface Rebar Objects.

Rebar Material Properties

In the iTwin Analytical Synchronizer, the Rebar Material properties for each type of bar used in the model can be viewed, including the bar area, diameter, and yield stress.
