Question:

I am trying to see a graphical representation of the envelope of plate stresses and/or moments--how can this be done?

Answer:

Recently STAAD.pro was updated to include the option of viewing colored contour plots displaying plate results for an envelope of loads.  Previously these plots could only be displayed on a load case by load case basis.  

The following steps can be used to utilize this feature:

1.  Run the analysis and go into Post Processing. 

2.  Under the Results ribbon, go to Layouts -> Plate Stress as shown below:

3.  In the dialog box that appears, choose "Envelope" in the Load Case menu, select the desired stress type (say, MY (local)), and click Apply then OK:

4.  The colored stress contour showing the stress envelope will appear on screen:
