Problem

When placing a note it shows the arrow but when the note is placed it changes to a tick mark.

Solution

Go to Element > Dimensions > Terminator Symbols and change the Arrow setting from cell back to default.

In V8i :

Go to Element > Dimension Styles > Geometry tab > Terminators  and change the Symbols > Arrow setting back to default.
