OpenBridge Modeler has many very functional options in the Substructure Template, specifically for the bent Cap, we currently have four possibilities to model it directly from the Library:
- Tapered: the tapers of the pier cap are narrowing at its ends;
- Rectangle: a simple default transversal support beam;
- Inverted T: a traditional inverted tee beam section;
- Variable: a more detailed changing shape accomplished by adding constraints with specific rules like linear, parabolic, and circular.
Tips:
- Access the options to modify the elements in Properties\Substructure Template or at the Utilities\Library\Piers Top Ribbon Menu
- Copy a current similar element and always Save the new element in the Library with a different name to be able to access them
- When zero values are not accepted as input, use a small value, like 0.01m or 2mm (see the screenshots below)
