How to
Navigate a Camera forward and back in relation to a target
Steps to Accomplish
Step 2: Navigate the camera forward and back in relation to a target.
Method 1: Select the Walk tool
To Access:
- Tasks: Visualization (Available in 3D Models) > Walk
- Menu: Tools > View > View Control > Walk
- Menu: Window > Enable View Toolbox > Select Walk from View Control Toolbox docked in the view.
- Key-in: NAVIGATE CUSTOM WALK
Tool Settings:
- The camera height can be specified here
- Disable "Prevent Camera Collision". If enabled, the camera detects collision with elements in its way and stops further movement (i.e. Prevents the camera from walking through walls or other objects).
To Navigate the Camera Forward and Back:
- Press and hold the up and down arrow keys
To Access:
- Menu: Tools > Visualization > Cameras > Navigate Camera
- Key-in: CAMERA NAVIGATE
Tool Settings:
- Select the view in which to navigate, then click reset.
- Set the Mode to Walk
- The camera height can be specified here
- Disable "Prevent Camera Collision". If enabled, the camera detects collision with elements in its way and stops further movement (i.e. Prevents the camera from walking through walls or other objects).
To Navigate the Camera Forward and Back:
- Press and hold the up and down arrow keys
- Click the move forward and back icons in the tool settings dialog
Note:
- The walk speed (in the tool settings dialog) may need to be adjusted. This can be done using the tool settings dialog or with the key-in: NAVIGATE WALK KEYBOARDSPEED <value>
- Using the mouse to walk will also enable the view to swivel left and right.
