The view controls are used to manipulate the display of each view. The most common of the view controls tools are available from the View Control Bar which is usually docked within the top of each view window. This toolbar should look something like the following but may contain less tools by default.
V8i versions : The display of the View Control Bar can be controlled from within the > Workspace > Preferences under the section View Options. You can choose to turn it off completely by un-ticking this option or selecting whether to display it within the Top, Bottom, Left or Right of the View Window.
CONNECT Edition versions: Go to Settings>Preferences>View Options
If the above View Control bar is not being displayed within the view window you can just access the View Control Toolbox from the menu > Tools > View > View Control and select the option to "Open As Toolbox".
This will display the same tools but from within a separate toolbox.
