Using the View Controls tools

View Control Bar

The view controls are used to manipulate the display of each view. The most common of the view controls tools are available from the View Control Bar which is usually docked within the top of each view window. This toolbar should look something like the following but may contain less tools by default.



V8i versions : The display of the View Control Bar can be controlled from within the > Workspace > Preferences under the section View Options. You can choose to turn it off completely by un-ticking this option or selecting whether to display it within the Top, Bottom, Left or Right of the View Window.

CONNECT Edition versions: Go to Settings>Preferences>View Options

View Control Toolbox

If the above View Control bar is not being displayed within the view window you can just access the View Control Toolbox from the menu > Tools > View > View Control and select the option to "Open As Toolbox".

This will display the same tools but from within a separate toolbox.

Various View Control Tools

 The Update View tool is available to redraw the display of the selected view if any operation leaves the display incomplete.
 The Zoom In tool increases the view window's magnification using the zoom ratio specified in the toolbox. (default 2.00)
 The Zoom Out tool decreases the view window's magnification using the same zoom ratio. (default 2.00)
 Window Area defines the boundary of a rectangular area to display within a view which can be applied to a specific windows if requested.
 Fit View adjusts the magnification of the view so that the whole active model is visible.
 Rotate View adjusts the rotation of the selected view according to selected method in either 2D or 3D models. The method could include Dynamic, 2 or 3 points, Isometric, Top, Right etc.
 Pan View is used to move the view to a different part of the design without changing its magnification.

View Previous performs an undo of the last viewing operation which could be a view control or view attribute change.

View Next performs a redo of the last undone viewing operation.
