"When I use a solid as a clip volume in MicroStation CONNECT Edition, the prompt shows "Element not valid for tool'. Does this mean the new version of MicroStation can't use a solid element for clip volume?"
When in MicroStation V8i a block is extruded, the result is defined as a Solid.
Following the same steps using MicroStation CONNECT Edition, the resulting object is standard defined as a Parametric Solid.
In the "Solid by Extrusion"-dialog, uncheck the Parametric toggle (see below) when creating the extrusion if the element is needed for a clip volume.
