How to align flooded hatch patterns

Background

To use a flooded a hatch pattern is often the fastst way to hatch an area but when hatching several areas at the same time the hatch pattern will not automatically align.

Steps to Accomplish

Option 1 for V8i:

In MicroStation V8i you cannot align multiple flooded hatch patterns when you place them, this has to be done afterwards.

To complicate things further aligning multiple flooded hatch patterns has to be done one flooded hatch pattern at the time.

  1. Use the Change Pattern tool to align the hatch patterns origins to the same point.

Work flow = Change Pattern (Intersection Point) > Select the Pattern > Select the new Intersection Point
To align several patterns choose the same Intersection Point when using the Chance Pattern tool.

Option 2 CONNECT Editon:

In MicroStation CONNECT Edition this has been made easier as you can align the flooded hatch patterns when you place them.

  1. Annotate > Hatch Tool (Flooded) > Press Ctrl + Shift > Select the areas to flood.
