iTwins are infrastructure digital twins that are managed within Bentley's iTwin platform.
iTwin Experience enables users to visualize, navigate and share these iTwins and provides access to iTwin management tools to create, administer and manage the data within the iTwin. The iTwin platform allows many different types of data to be associated with the digital twin including BIM data, reality data, GIS data, IoT sensors, documents and more.
Beyond visualization and sharing iTwin Experience includes specialized capabilities that enable advanced interaction with the iTwin to accomplish specific workflows.

In iTwin Experience, all data and interactions are in relation to digital twins or iTwins stored in the cloud platform.
A Portfolio is your single-pane-of-glass to all your assets and projects, providing a spatial first view for your organization and stakeholders.
An Asset represents an actual infrastructure object that exists in the real world.
A Project represents a specific endeavor—a focused mission to design, build, or operate a piece of infrastructure.
You can decide to work with Portfolios that contain your assets or either work directly with your assets and projects without the use of a portfolio.
