New in PLAXIS 3D CONNECT Edition V22 - Update 1
Release: May 2022
PLAXIS 3D CONNECT Edition V22 (22.01.00.452) contains the following improvements and updates compared to PLAXIS 3D CONNECT Edition V22.00:
Compatibility notes: Due to the major changes in the material database and the unit system, PLAXIS 3D CONNECT Edition Version 22 will be installed alongside Version 21, instead of overwriting it. When opening PLAXIS 3D V21 projects with PLAXIS 3D V22, projects will automatically be saved as a converted copy with the
_converted suffix and will require recalculation. When using non-SI-units, the mesh also needs to be regenerated.
The PLAXIS 3D CONNECT Edition V21 projects will remain unchanged.
Earlier versions of PLAXIS
will not be able to open files saved in PLAXIS 3D V22.
New features
Discontinuity elements
Added discontinuity element and material type to simulate rock discontinuities, such as fractures, joints, weakness planes, etc.
Command for retrieving results from cross-sections in Output
Added the getcrosssectionresults command for retrieving results from cross-sections in Output.
Fixed issues
The following known issues have been fixed in this version:
A large number of issues have been addressed, including:
- [379524] Fixed an issue in the Tunnel Designer in curved tunnels when some plate segments were not added.
- [450763] Fixed an issue when PLAXIS would crash when trying to open a model in which some groups were removed.
- [466741] Improved the Jupyter notebook scripting reference and fixed some typos.
- [518340] Improved clarity in the explanation of the drainage types in the material database.
- [522101] Improvements on the cross section curves for 3D curved elements (beams and girders).
- [547960] The mesh generation would give warnings on irrelevant short length embedded beam elements. This will not be shown anymore.
- [556364] Improved side panel info for Geogrid and Anchor stiffness input values
- [624566] Fixed an issue in reopening a saved cross-section curve.
- [634710] Material manual documentation improvements for the Hardening Soil model
- [635873] The volume information in the 3D elements table now shows the correct volume.
- [726398] Reintroduced side panel information for change of permeability ck.
- [761482] Exporting the geometry to DXF now also works in soil mode.
- [773408] Hydraulic conductivity values for Non-porous and Undrained C materials are now set to zero to be consistent with the drainage type.
- [777106] Fixed a type on the explanation of the bulk modulus and shear modulus for the UBC-3PLM model.
- [780419] Fixed an issue with opening files after removing groups in Soil or Structures mode.
- [782938] As in SS and SSC model, the parameter M is not a strength parameter, it does not belong to the Strength section in the material database.
- [784097] Reordered the parameter list in the User Interface for UDCAM-S.
- [784122] Reordered the parameter list in the User Interface for UDCAM-S.
- [794746] Fixed an issue with the Model and Selection explorer when trying to access the currently assigned soil material of a soil element.
- [803599] Fixed an issue for UDCAM-S when using the cyclic accumulation tool and updating the main material parameters.
- [804411] It is again possible to define a negative value for the incremental strength for NGI-ADP models.
- [809493] Loading SoilTest result files did not show the used material parameters and values properly
- [809499] Saving SoilTest configurations preserves file extension
- [811866] Re-introduced the Pressure Meter Test (PMT) in SoilTest for the Hardening Soil model
- [812334] Fixed an issue when reading PLAXIS files with embedded beam materail sets that contain large axial resistance tables.
- [812497] Resolved mesh generation issues in very specific cases where combined geometry contains seem-edges on reverted faces.
- [845918] PLAXIS Soiltest optimization would check only againsts the base tier, and not the currently used tier (Advanced, Ultimate). This is now resolved
