Overview

In this wiki, we will learn how to add stiffeners in the Shear Plate connection and create the templates of the stiffeners.
This feature of adding stiffeners has been introduced in the ProStructures CONNECT Edition Update 6.

Note: As this feature is introduced in the ProStructures CONNECT Edition Update 6, so the users using older versions will not see this feature.

Method

1. Place the shear plate connection located under steel workflow>Home>Steel Connections>Shear Plate connection.
If the connection is already placed then right-click on the connection and click on the ‘change connection’ option.

2. This will open the Shear Plate connection dialog. Set the required geometrical properties for the connection and navigate to the Cope/Stiffener dialog.

3. Under Cope/Stiffener tab, go to the Stiffener section and enable the option for it. Also, set the required thickness for the stiffener plate.

4. After setting the properties for stiffener, it can be saved as a template in the template option. Once done, click Ok and a stiffener plate will be added to the Shear Plate connection.
