Problem Description

An empty box or a box containing non-Promis.e or non-Substation menu items appears on screen and will not go away until the page is closed.

Explanation

This box is from the secondary menu that pops up when the reset button (typically the right mouse button) is held longer than a normal click.  This occurs when the Reset Pop-up Menu is set to "Press and Hold", which is typical for Promis.e and Bentley Substation.

Steps to Resolve

1. Press and hold the right mouse button again to remove the box from the screen.

Steps to Avoid

To avoid the problem in the future increase the amount of time the right mouse button must be held for the reset menu to appear.  This only affects the secondary, MicroStation reset menu, not the Promis.e/Substation right-click menu.

1. From the main pull down menus, select Workspace > Preferences.
2. Select the Input category on the left.
3. Increase the Hold Delay by moving the slider all the way to the right.  The Hold Delay value is in 60ths of a second.
4. Click OK.
