Background:

Exchange Catalog can be used by users to replace all symbols in Schematic Mode or the entire Project, with symbols of the same names found in the Catalog Paths of a specified setup configuration. Symbols without a definition found in the catalogs are not replaced.

Uses for the Exchange Catalog tool include:

• Switch the symbols in a project to a different standard.
• Update all symbols with the latest definitions.
• Replace a subset of symbols known to be a problem. This requires creating a setup configuration that includes only catalogs containing symbols to be replaced.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Select Replace >> Exchange. 

2. Select the Catalog, specify the Project or Schematic. And select the settings as per requirement.
