sisNET CONNECT Edition can be used with Oracle Server 11.2, 12.1, 12.2, 18c or 19c. The Oracle Client must always be 64 bit and can be of version 11.2, 12.1 or 12.2. These combinations are indicated in the green rectangle in the overview below. Do note that, from these combinations possible with sisNET, regular support from Oracle itself is only available for an Oracle 12.2.0 client with Oracle Server 12.2.0, 18c and 19c, indicated by the green cells in the overview. For the yellow cells in the overview you need an Extended Support contract with Oracle.
Some example use-cases:
If you currently use Oracle Server version 11.2.0 (64 bit) with an Oracle client 11.2.0 (32 bit) then you can still use Oracle Server 11.2.0 with sisNET CONNECT Edition, but you have to switch the Oracle 11.2.0 client to 64 bit. You will not get support from Oracle unless you pay Oracle for Extended Support.
If you currently use Oracle Server 12.1.0 (64 bit) with Oracle client 11.2.0 (32 bit) then you can still use Oracle Server 12.1.0 with sisNET CONNECT Edition, but you have to switch the Oracle 11.2.0 client to 64 bit. You will not get support from Oracle unless you pay Oracle for Extended Support.
If you currently use Oracle Server 12.2.0 (64 bit) with Oracle client 12.2.0 (32 bit) then you only have to change the Oracle client 12.2.0 to 64 bit. This combination is supported by Oracle.
If you currently use sisVIEW with Oracle XE 11.2.0 and an Oracle client 11.2.0 (32 bit) then you can still use Oracle XE 11.2.0 with sisVIEW CONNECT Edition, but you have to make sure that the Oracle database and the Oracle client are 64 bit.
Regarding the Oracle 12.2 versions there is an addition for all Windows operating system users: Oracle version 12.2.0.1 should not be used if the functionality of the Materialized Views (difference adjustment of the mobile workstations) is used, because there are problems with the refresh via the database link. The mentioned patch 25199585 is unfortunately only available for LINUX, not for Windows. All that remains is an upgrade to version 12.2.0.2 (now called 18c).
