SITEOPS expects imported geometry to be connected/closed for each shape that will become a SITEOPS area.  If the CAD file contains additional geometries or multiple open geometries, then SITEOPS might try to close them as one area on import, see the images below.

To resolve this issue, make certain that each shape, in the CAD file, is closed with itself or map the geometries to SITEOPS Reference Layers or use the All As Reference/Rest As Reference options.
