Database Cannot Be Connected


NOTE: If getting the ‘Database Cannot be connected’ error message, verify that all users are also getting this error. If only one user has the issue, when all other users are working fine, this process will not resolve the problem and should NOT be implemented.

 

After logging on to the Server, type Services.msc into the search window to open the Services utility: 

  1. Restart the Oracle database service.

   

  1. Restart the Listener.ora file:

 

  1. Open a command prompt and tnsping the database:

   

  1. If the tnsping returns an OK message, have the users try again to open the application.
