OVERVIEW

The article describes the Weld Report for AutoPLANT Modeler which can be inserted into the Isometric Sheet. In AutoPLANT Modeler, a default Weld Report is present in the "reports.def" file. This report can be inserted into the isometric sheet in the form of an Individual report or Combined report (with Shop and Field reports). In this article we will be discussing the procedure for creation of Individual Weld Report and inserting it in a tabular form in the Isometric Sheet.

PROCEDURE

The Insertion of a custom weld report in Isometric sheet can be achieved by following 4 steps:

    I.  Create the Table Graphics in the Isometric Seed File.

II.  Create and Assign a Text Node to the report.

  III.  Modify the "report.def" file.

  IV.  Generate Isometrics.

As per the requirement, the user should select the Project Unit, Isometric Style and follow the process as for all project units and isometric styles the procedure remains same.

In this document, we will be working with Project Unit: SAMPLE_IMPERIAL and Isometric Style = As Built.

Step I:  Create the Table Graphics in the Isometric Seed file.

For Project Unit  = SAMPLE_IMPERIAL

      Isometric Style = As Built

a) Open Project Administrator  > SAMPLE_IMPERIAL  > OpenPlant Isometrics  > Settings >  Create/Modify  > Advanced > Open Seed File

Seed File is Displayed in this manner.

b) Create the Table Graphics as per the requirement of the No. of Columns by firstly using Create block command to create the main block: -

c) Then use Place Smartline Command to create individual columns and the Heading Row: -

d) Use the Place Text option to place the Names of respective columns of the Report: -

Final Table Graphics should look like this.

Step IICreate and Assign a Text node to the report.

a) Activate Text Nodes from the View Attributes.

b) Click on Place Text Node.

c) Place Text node in such a way that it will align the Data into the table Graphics.

d) Now, Locate and Open: "node2da.txt" file from C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Plant V8i\Bentley Plant V8i Projects\SAMPLE_IMPERIAL\Config\OpenPlant\Isometrics\styles\As-Built\config\ node2da.txt

And write the syntax in the format (Node Number, Name of Entity), like here our node number is "70" and we have assigned it to the "WELD" as shown below

Finally, SAVE the file.

Step III: Modify the "report.def" file

a) Locate and Open: "report.def" file  from C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Plant V8i\Bentley Plant V8i Projects\SAMPLE_IMPERIAL\Config\OpenPlant\Isometrics\styles\As-Built\config\ report.def

This syntax is already present in the "reports.def" file

b) The modifications required to be done in the default weld report are as follows:

In order to insert a column which has Application generated data (ex: Weld No, Shop Weld / Field Weld), you should individual syntax "COLUMN = 10:C: WELDID", the meaning of this syntax is :-

Also, you will be adding the syntax "NODE = Text Node Number", ex- (NODE = 70); this will attach the data of this report and it will be populated at the text node present in the isoseed file of the Isometric Style.

Your final weld report syntax will be: -

Finally, SAVE the file.

Step IV: Generate the Isometrics

Generated Isometrics should look like this which will be reflecting the Weld Report in it.
