How to export Project Workspace to local directory in ProjectWise Managed Environment.

Background

Sometimes in the live projects, there is a requirement to test whatever the customization is done to the application. This is for smooth productivity during the project & the user couldn’t face any challenges during the modeling or designing. Thus, for doing this the workspace is exported from PW Explorer to the local directory. This wiki article explains the steps to do so.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. The initial requirement is the workspace should collaborate with the ProjectWise. Please note that we are exporting the workspace from PW to Local. Attached the wiki link below for how to collaborate the Workspace with ProjectWise.

  2. Launch ProjectWise Explorer/Client CONNECT Edition



  3. Double click on the desired data source & log-in with the appropriate password as shown



  4. Expand the workarea folder (here TEST_OPM_1) & search for workspaces folder as shown



  5. Do right click on the workspace folder & select export as shown



  6. The export wizard will open. This wizard contains two options Export & Send to Folder. Select the Sent to Folder & hit next as shown



  7. Browse the desired folder where the workspace to be exported. Check-on the options below according to requirement & hit enter as shown



  8. The exporting progress dialogue will pop up as shown. Please wait till the next message wizard.



  9. Once done, Hit on the finish as shown below



  10. Go to the allotted folder mentioned above in step-7 & verify the results.
