Background

When there are multiple users working on the same project and working locally (File Based Mode without ProjectWise) then there is a need to put the workspace on a shared drive which can be accessed by all the engineers. Administrator needs to make sure that all the users can get access of all the files which need to run application for that particular project. In order to do that configuration files need to be modified which point to the workspace folder.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Open Windows explorer and navigate to the shared location where Workspace folder is located.

  2. Map this drive on your machine.

  3. Open msdir.cfg file in a notepad. File is located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\OpenPlantModeler V8i\OpenPlantModeler\config" folder.

  4. Add path of the mapped drive as highlighted below.

  5. Save the changes and launch OpenPlant Modeler to verify the result.
