Background

In OpenPlant PID Connect Edition , sometime user wants to change the default value to desired text and edit it in later stage of the project . In this wiki we will see how to change the default value for gate vale specifically but this also can be used for other components as well.

Steps to Accomplish

1. Launch OpenPlant Project Administrator from desktop icon 
   
   
   
   
2. Select any WorkSet and click on OpenPlant PID, click tools and then open Class editor. Open OpenPlant_PID.01.08 schema from C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\WorkSpaces\WorkSpace\WorkSets\OpenPlantMetric\Standards\OpenPlant\Schemas.
   
   
   
   
3. Now right click OpenPlant_PID.01.08 and supplement with OpenPlant_PID_Supplemental_Design.01.08 schema from below location (check image).
   
   
   
   
4. From search option look for “Gate Valve” class and hit Go To.
   
   
5. Click on Gate Valve, from the properties tab click on DEVICE_TYPE_CODE and hit on override to change the default value to desired value.
   
   
   
   
6. Let’s change HV to DEFAULT VALUE for illustration and save the changes in schemas.
   
   
   
   
7. Verify results by launching OpenPlant PID and place gate valve.
