  3. Would be selecting components which are in the box as shown below from P&ID i.e Control Station consisting of Flow Control valve and Bypass Valve along with Pipeline.

  4. Change the workflow to Drawing from OpenPlant PID as shown below

  5. In Drawing workflow, Select Home tab and at the end in Group click on dropdown arrow of Named Group.

  6. Named Group dialog box gets launched as shown below:

  7. Already created group Control Station-1 through adding element in Named Group which consist of 15 number of Graphical Elements.
Through double click on Control Station-1 the elements in that particular groups gets highlighted.

  8. While removing any specific element from created group i.e Control Station-1, First Right click on that group and select Set displayset such that elements in Control Station-1 is remains and entire P&ID is disappears as shown below in box.

  9. Select the required Element to be removed consider FV-010-A  in Control Station-1 group, Click on Control Station -1 -B in Named group and thus Remove Element options get enabled and click on it.

  10. Clicking on Remove Element launches Drop from Graphic Group dialog and click on further in blank working area of dgn.

Tick in Drop From Named Groups helps in easy functionality of removing the element by clicking in working area of dgn.

  11. Clicking on blank working area in dgn the elements in Named Group in Control Station-1 becomes 14 from 15.

  12. Again right click on Control station-1 and select Clear Displayset such that entire P&ID is displayed again.

  13. Again when double clicked on Control station it can viewed that FV-010 is not highlighted

Removing Specific element or components from group and modifying it or replacing it with new one and again adding it into same group helps in saving time in rework task in dense P&ID.
