About AssetWise ALIM

AssetWise Asset Lifecycle Information Management (ALIM) is a comprehensive asset information management system that helps you reduce costs and improve safety by enabling easy access to validated and trusted asset data. The application works within a connected data environment to help you improve decision-making and manage assets and related information for infrastructure operations across industries and asset types.

 

BECS ALIM Connector enables to communicate with any existing object of ALIM or event raised in ALIM.

 

It has implemented following set of functions:

EQL ReturnXML Single Parameter, Attach File To Document, Change Document Properties, Create Document, Modify Tag, Check If Revision Exists, Check If File Exists Against Document, Attach File To Existing Document Revision, Create Transmittal, Transmittal Creation And Assigning Document, Create New Document From Template, Create New Revision Of Existing Document, Check If Transmittal Exists, Check if Document Exists, Retrieve Object, Change Attributes, EQL XML, EQL DataTable, ​​​​​​​ApiCall.

 

How it works

BECS ALIM Connector covers whole ALIM introduced API integration layer as well as ALIM events for triggering integration from ALIM. To enable listening on any of ALIM events, BECS ALIM Connector package also includes BECS ALIM Engine for capturing ALIM events, which enables “ALIM triggered” integration as well. BECS ALIM Engine is a component for ALIM as a “dll library” used in standard ALIM event handler (see the BECS ALIM Engine section below).​​​​​​​

 

BECS ALIM Connector has two options how to communicate with ALIM:

• the 1^st is the connection and data exchange through ALIM API;
• the 2^nd is the way through BECS ALIM Engine, which is woken up after an event happening on ALIM side. In practice the BECS ALIM Connector via Engine enables to capture events as “On Approve” of Virtual Item Group to allow sharing the data to iTwin, or exchange files from ALIM to CEMAR or other ALIM as a destination.

BECS ALIM Connector requires:

• BECS Server version 5.5 or higher
• BECS Visual Architect version 5.5 or higher
• AssetWise ALIM

Whole process will drive following steps:

1. Installation of standard BECS package
2. After installation (if standard package does not include BECS ALIM Connector), it is necessary copy dll file ”Ace.Integrator.ALIM.dll” to BECS installation path.
3. After installation (if standard package does not include BECS ALIM Connector), it is necessary copy dll file ”Ace.Integrator.ALIM.dll” to BECS Visual Architect installation path (Architect\Extensions\Application).
4. Product will be after Activation ready to use.
