Precede frequently crashes when opening or modifying models


Problem

Precede may be crashing due to some issues, but the most likely explanation is an issue with the graphics card and/or software driver. There are a few troubleshooting steps that can be taken to try and isolate and resolve the issue.

Solution

Verify that your graphics card is supported.

The list of recommended graphics cards is available here. Note that there have been some issues with the Intel on-board graphics cards, so a dedicated graphics card is highly recommended.

You can verify the graphics card on your computer by opening the Device Manager and expanding Display adapters.

 

Update the graphics card driver

Right-click the graphics card in the Device Manager and select properties to open the graphics card properties.

 

Click Update Driver on the Driver tab in the graphics card properties dialog.

 

Select Search Automatically for updated driver software to automatically install the latest graphics card driver.
