AutoPIPE - Fatigue Analysis as per ASME Section VIII Division 1 in AutoPIPE Vessel

Summary

ASME Section VIII Division 1 does not include explicit fatigue analysis rules. Therefore, direct fatigue analysis is not available in AutoPIPE Vessel when Div. 1 is selected.

Recommended Workaround

To evaluate fatigue for a Division 1 vessel, use ASME Section VIII Division 2 for fatigue checking.

Steps:

1. Copy the existing ASME VIII Div. 1 model.
2. Change the design code to ASME Section VIII Division 2.
3. Define pressure cycles and number of cycles.
4. Run fatigue analysis.
5. Check that the fatigue usage factor ≤ 1.0.

Note:

- Design remains per Division 1.
- Division 2 is used only for fatigue verification, which can be accepted.
