Does AutoPIPE Vessel support calculations for rectangular shells and nozzles?
Answer
As of July, 2025 (AutoPIPE Vessel Version 46.00.00.165), the design of rectangular nozzles and rectangular shells is not supported within the AutoPIPE Vessel. However, if your application involves a rectangular header, you may utilize the Air Cooler module, which supports such designs in accordance with Appendix 13 of ASME Section VIII, Division 1.
A new idea to add the feature for rectangular pressure vessel into APV has already been posted on the Bentley IDEA portal.
