"OpenPlantIsometricManager stopped working" message appears when creating an iso in AutoPIPE

Problem:

When trying to create a Stress isometric in AutoPIPE the following message appears:

"OpenPlantIsometricManager stopped working"

Why and how to avoid this?

Solution:

 There can be any number of reasons why this issue would appear. Review each of the following scenarios to determine if one or more may apply:

Scenario #1: Unit conversion

Problem was with some unit conversion issue in Support Boomlables which maybe present in .L00 file.

Workaround:

  1. Open the model
  2. Press Save Stress Isometric and select the name and location of the drawing
  3. On “AutoPIPE Isometric Manager Options” dialog, Press “Settings” button
  4. On Settings Dialog go to “Dimensioning/Text” tab and change Eng/Metric Dims to “mm Pipeline Bores / mm linear dimensions” and press OK
  5. Then press OK on main dialog to generate Isometric.

Scenario #2: Automatic split

Model had a large amount of information that was condensed down into one drawing.

Workaround:

  1. Open the model
  2. Press "Save Stress Isometric" and select the name and location of the drawing
  3. On “AutoPIPE Isometric Manager Options” dialog, Check “Automatic Split” option, to be enabled
  4. Press Settings button.
  5. On Settings Dialog go to “Automatic split” tab and adjust the min and max numbers as desired and press OK
  6. Then press OK on main dialog to generate Isometric.
